5 Years

Bret and I started seriously dating 5 years ago. Time has flown, but I can't imagine my life with out him.

This Is a picture of us at Snow College Graduation a few weeks after we started dating.

Bret's 27th Birthday

On Bret's actual birthday he did a full day at the hospital for school and then worked a few more hours at Rite Aid for his job. So there was not much time to do anything that day. I did make him banana chocolate chip peanut butter chip cookies. He wanted something other than cake. The cookies turned out surprisingly delicious.
Friday night we went to Famous Dave's for dinner. Ugh, that place has too much meat, but Bret liked. Saturday we went with my family to see Coraline, and Sunday we had dinner with his family. It was a fun weekend of celebrating.

Counting My Blessings #29 - NPR

I really enjoy listening to NPR - National Public Radio. It may be nerdy, but it is interesting. Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and Car Talk add humor to my Saturday morning chores. Prairie Home Companion and The Thistle and the Shamrock are great entertainment when I am around to listen to them on Saturday Evenings.
I always learn something fascinating on Talk of the Nation Science Friday.
I like that I know in an instance how the stock market is doing by if Market Place is playing "We're in the Money," "Stormy Weather," or "It don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing." There are several other programs that I enjoy, but I will spare you.
NPR keeps me company as I ride in my car, and I am grateful for it.

Open The Gates and Seize The Day

For my birthday I was given Newsies the movie and the sound track. I actually got the movie twice because when asked what I wanted I said "Newsies." I love that movie and I love the music. I first saw it when I was six at a sneak preview, and I have been obsessed since. If you haven't seen the movie I highly recommend it.

I also like to run while watching musicals because I get so excited it gives me motivation to keep going. I only got half way through it last night, and I am excited to go running again so I can finish it up. I also have been enjoying listening to the sound track over and over again.

My first Hollywood crushes were on Christan Bale and Bill Pullman. I also love Teddy Roosevelt and the Progressive Era (note Newsies not the most historically accurate but it is set in a time period that I love). So I guess I am just rambling on, but this movie is exceptionally enjoyable to me.
