Fireman Hat

Days are filled with such wonderful moments.

And then the moments when your toddler is demanding you to take a picture of him under the blankets a very specific way, and you aren't doing it "right" in spite of trying.  The in a frustrated fit the toddler throws himself backwards and hits his head on the window seal super hard.
Then after you hold and rock him for a while he wants to be carried everywhere, but dinner needs to be prepared.
So thankful for the super amazing pack, and the good moments, and bedtime.

Haircut

I got a haircut a couple of weeks ago, and since haircut days are the only times my hair looks good I had to get a picture.
Of course I needed to get some pictures of my crazy girl.
 Don't forget the crazy boy.

Peach Days

I've been meaning to go to Peach Days since I was pregnant with Wes, but something always seemed to come up.  This year we finally made it.
We went to the parade.  The firetrucks are always one of my little mans favorite parts.  The problem is he really tries to be accurate with his sound impressions so his siren volume is ear breaking.  We are working on softening it a bit (until the next parade).
We joined our BC peeps.  It's probably the last year they will live there so it was fun to join them for their hometown celebration.

Brynn and Hannah in matching sunhats.  We didn't plan for them to wear them.  Here they are fighting over candy...well more like the paper attached to the candy.

The floats are fun.  There was the ghetto float and pirate ship was pretty cool.  The gymnasic float that had nonstop flips was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a parade.
Are hammer pants really coming back?  Hhhhh..... I don't know what to say about that.

Brynn crawled around the blanket eating and chewing on puffs, sugar cereal, candy, and whatever else she could get her hands on.  She did not appreciate when I took things away.
Wes was less work.  He sat in the stroller and talked about the floats everyone in awhile.
Brynn was given a necklace.  She really liked that.
We went to the carnival part.
 Brynn took a little nap.

We weren't going to on any rides (I forgot cash and didn't want to find an ATM because Wes won't go on rides without a parent.  His friends, Sammy and Jordan, totally shared a couple of tickets and convinced him to go on the train with them.  (The parents were instrumental in this.)
Friends are great!
  He really liked it.
It was hard to convince him to get in the car instead of playing in this grass, but I told him he could play at Sammy and Jordan's he was compliant.
We sure had fun at Peach Days.  We didn't end up with peaches because the kids fell asleep in the car while we drove to the fruit stand, and I didn't have the heart/energy to wake them up.

Jump and spray

Such a fun, crazy, bouncy girl.

We don't use bottles very often, but when we do this is how my kids like to drink.

Brynn's first word - iddy!

I am usually pretty skeptical with baby babble, but  after a few days of her happily saying," iddy" every time she saw a cat even Bret agreed that she is saying it.
She loves her kitties!

Smoke Detector of Doom

Wesley discovered a new fear.  The smoke detector.
You know that thing that is in every bedroom and you can't cover up.  He particularly dislikes the little light on it.
We talked about how it keeps us safe.  Wes kept insisting we take it down, and I told him we can't because the fireman said we need to have it to help us be safe (it was the best way I could think of to explain fire code a two year old).  He insisted that I stand in just the right place to "block it."  I suggested we make a tent instead.
It has evolved into this.
Gotta love the post nap grog (as long as it's not the grumpy whiny kind).
I want a fireman to tell him it is okay (this kid is obsessed with firetrucks), but I have played phone tag a bit with the fire department here.  We'll see where this goes.  Sometimes he doesn't want his tent, but most of the time he does.  I am grateful we have found a way to help him fell safe in his room.

Fun House

Did you ever make huts out of refrigerator boxes when you were a kid?  It is one of my favorite memories.
So I just had to turn the box from our outdoor chairs into something for my kiddo.  The neighbor's seemed to enjoy it too.
The lines weren't cut straight and it wasn't fancy, but that didn't really matter to them.
I did tape up "curtains" so basically that is the limit to my awesomeness.
Brynn watched from the stroller.
They played with it for a few days.  The one box didn't fit all three well so we improvised.
They spent blissful hours playing and coloring the box.
The fun house come to an end when the kids decided to break it by jumping and rolling on it.  They were surprised the next day they didn't have it even though they were told by several grownups what would happen if they destroyed it.  Kids.
We'll do this again next time we get a huge box.
