Double Trouble or Trouble to the Nth degree

My two sweet little monsters are starting to play together better and better. 

It can be incredibly cute.

And incredibly frustrating.

Because each child possesses unique naughty powers.  And when their power combine they amply to destructive messes. Ugh. 

Locked doors only slow them down a little.

It's a good thing they are so dang cute.

We didn't make this ginger bread house at Christmas time.  So Bret made it with the kids while I was gone one day.  The kids enjoyed the frosting (Bret used the kind that is safe to eat).

Play dough is a must when trying to keep cabin fevered kids out of trouble.

A little snowman food play.

A fun treat except Wes won't eat doughnuts.

I love these crazy kids...even when they cause trouble.

Snow Man

We built a snow man.  I did most of the heavy lifting, but the kids we happy to help me finish.  The were excited and really like it.

A couple of weeks I froze water with food coloring to decorate the snowman.

The weather had been hot and cold off and on so much the snowman had become ice himself.

The ice jewels wouldn't stick on, but the sun at least come out.

At least Wes enjoyed walking on top of the snow.

I just put a drop or two of die to each heart in the ice tray.  Not a good idea.  The dye was coming out all over.  Luckily it was freezing so we didn't have too much staining.

Since the jewels won't stick on the snowman the kids just but them in the pocket the weird weather had melted on the snowman.

The last snow/snowman activity we did was snow painting.  The snowman was headless and mostly melted, but the kids were happy.  I just put a couple of drops of food coloring in a water bottle with water.  The kids loved it.

The kids help me remember that winter isn't all bad.  There sure are some fun parts, too.

A Hobbit Birthday

We went down to celebrate my dad's birthday.  He was busy on his actual birthday so we hung out at my mom's house on Friday night and got together with my Dad the next day.

Story time.

Here's the Hobbit cake I made for my dad.  It went along with the Hobbit Lego set and Hobbit shirt we gave him.  My dad read the Hobbit to us a few times as kids.  I loved it.

The kids were so excited to give Punka his cake!

They were more excited to eat it.
