Graduation Announcements

I did all of the graduation announcements today. Luckily there were only 20, but I am still happy that it is done.

Bret is graduating on June 6, 2009 at 9:00am. I am so proud of him.

Life Changes

There are so many changes coming it is crazy. Bret graduates in 3 weeks, and he is looking for a job. We are going to be moving soon (not out of state) and the best part is having a baby.

Bret had applied for a residency in Washington. When we went up for interview we didn't know I was pregnant. We know I was going to have a baby by the time he found out he didn't get it, and I have to admit I was relieved. It could have been an awesome adventure, but I am happy to not be moving so far from my family at a time like this.

So we are not sure were we are going to live, but we aren't planning on moving too far away. I am going to miss the people in my neighborhood. We don't know where Bret will be working. I am not exactly sure how long I will be at my job, but I am grateful for the income and insurance. We do know that we will be having a baby in November, and we are so excited. Life is a little crazy but definitely good.

Race Cars

My sister was able to get free tickets to Miller Motor Park through her work, and so we went out and enjoyed a day at the races. It was warm, but not too hot with beautiful blue skies.

Here Alex and Bret are racing to see who can change the tire fastest. My brother won, but they both were finished around 20 seconds.

My Newest Creation

This is a hat I made for my neighbor who just had a little girl. I am really excited about it, and I hope she likes it. Perhaps if you flattery me enough I will make one for you or your child....

Ducklings

There have been quite a few ducks in my neighborhood lately. My favorite was this mother with her little ducklings. They were so cute and stayed right in the lines of the cross walk when they were crossing the street. I wasn't fast enough with my camera so I wasn't able to get a picture of it, but it was so funny.

Thoughts on My First Trimester

I am so happy to be having a baby, but I must say that I was not expecting morning sickness to be as potent and unrelenting as it was. I really don't know what I would have done without such a wonderful husband who took such good care of me. Working full time at a high stress job with nausea and fatigue was ruff. I thought about writing a blog all about the different types of nausea, vomiting, and dry heaving I have discovered, but then I thought it would probably better to keep that to myself.

I haven't had crazy cravings, although I have really enjoyed potatoes. I have had a lot of food aversion. At one point it was horrible because I hated (hate is a strong but fitting word) most food but not eating was not an option. I don't want to starve my child and my body punishes me if I don't eat consistently. Peanut butter and jelly on toast, chicken noodle soup from the Soup Kitchen Restaurant, apples, and baked potatoes have been life savers life savers.


I am also happy the winter has decided to leave finally. I was getting very sick of the continuous snow storms.

I still get nauseous and fatigued easily, but not as much as before. I am so grateful to be feeling better, and I hope it continues as I get farther from my first trimester. I am also happy not to need to keep it a secret. What do you say to people you are not ready to tell you are pregnant when they ask when you are going to start your family? Plus, I had such a hard time believing I really was pregnant.

Well I am happy to be leaving my first trimester, and I am getting more and more excited as the reality of having a baby sinks in.
