I Love This Man So Much!

My husband is amazing! I really am the luckiest woman in the world to have him. Not only is he a wonderful husband, but he is such an extraordinary father. Plus, he's green eyes are so pretty...well he is all over handsome!
I am so eternally grateful for my temple marriage so I can be with my family forever.

Serious Face

When Wes is in new situations he has to study everything, and he has such a serious face. Once he warms up then he has the cutest sense of humor. He's like his dad in that way. In spite appearances, he really enjoyed the car on the shopping cart.

I Love This Boy So Much!

Wesley is so much fun! I wish that I could capture and record every precious moment, every expression, and every funny thing he does. Like how he vibrates his tongue when he cries so he sounds like a wookie. Or how he repeatedly vibrates his lips with a "ba" sound at the beginning when he really into playing. Or how he plays peekaboo with whatever object is around him and is working so hard to try to say peekaboo. I am sure I am missing priceless details, but I just have to remind myself that all I can do is the best I can do. Oh, I LOVE being a mother!

Here's the latest on his phases: So I have wanted to figure out how put a braid in the front of my hair ever since the '08 summer Olympics (a runner fell, and I noticed it in her hair). Well, I decided it was time to figure it out. So after I watched a few 'how to' videos on youtube, I set to work. I never learned to do a french braid growing up because between my sister and my mom I didn't need to. I also am not skilled or talented with styling hair. So with those obstacle in place I set to work....I took me a long time to figure it out....an embarrassingly long time. Meanwhile my sweet son played patently on the floor beside me (well 9 month old patently).
Now to the point of my story, after watching me trying to do my hair, he would put any toy/object he could find and run it along his scalp like a brush. He would beam when I told him how handsome he looked after each of his grooming sessions.
So he is super messy in this picture, yet completely adorable.

You spin me right round, baby, right round

Wesley Loves his Kitty

So this is what I found while I wasn't paying close attention (there's a small chance I was watching Drop Dead Diva on Hulu...ugh...probably shouldn't confess to that) Wes spread out his toys (typical), got into markers (luckily can't open them yet), and was playing with his kitty.
He enjoyed rubbing his face on her soft fur, and Ivory is such a good sport.
Wesley would kiss her and shake the markers so she would chase them.
For as mad as that cat can make me, I absolutely love her when she's so cute with my little guy.
I have a cute video that blogger won't let me upload...boo...anyone know how to fix it?

My Sunshine

It's been a little while since I posted a video of Wes laughing. So here you are:

Mixed Emotions on Grass

Wes is not sure about grass. On one hand it's soft and fun to crawl around on, but on the other hand it's poky and he wants to touch as little of it as possible.

Life with Kitties

The cats serve as a great entertainment during meals.
Wesley really likes "his" new toys. He can't figure out why we won't let him chew on them and keep throwing them to the cats.
Ivory is really good to play with Wes and not scratch him.
The cat carrier serves as a great walker.
Wes loves waving this cat toy and the cat loves to chase it
but it doesn't work as well when Wes tries to play with the cat.
Most of the pictures are with Ivory because the other cat hides all day. Maybe it's because she feels bad we don't have a name for her yet.
The two cats are starting to make friends.

So I thought I took a way funny video of the baby and the cat. I was so excited because it was super funny...until I realized the camera wasn't recording. So all I have is this super boring video.

But we are having fun. We are not sure if two cats are too much for us. So if anyone is interested in Ivory let us know. We don't have the heart to put her back in the pound.

Washing Machine

Wesley is fascinated by the washing machine, and it is very helpful while I am making dinner.

Limber Pine Trail

We went for a little hike on the Limber Pine Trail. It is an easy, but pretty hike.
We learned that cool curves in trees like this are caused when the tree is young and snow breaks the main part of a tree a branch will take over the growth. Here is the tree that the trail is named after. Birds stash the seed of the trees away to eat later, but when several trees sprout from a forgotten stash it creates a tree made up of multiple trees.
You can see beautiful Bear Lake at one point in the hike. We stopped her to eat lunch.
We also drove around Tony's Grove a bit. The verities of wild flowers were breath taking.

We Got Two Kittens

We went to the shelter maybe going to get one kitten, and somehow ended up with two.
This one was named Fancy at the shelter. We want to change her name, but have had a hard time picking a new one. She's been called everything from Marble to Fancy Pants to Dumbledore. Any good suggestions on a name for her? Wesley is very interested in the kitties.
This one is Ivory. She is a more active then Fancy/other name, and the one we weren't sure if we were going to get.
Wesley likes all the new toys we got, but he can't figure out why we won't let him chew on them and keep throwing them to the cats.

Helping Punka Cook

We went down to SLC (again), because I was doing a Shelf Reliance Party for one of my friends. We went shopping on Wednesday for clothes, which was so fun. We met at the mall, and I thought I saw her, but the lady was walking way too fast. It turns out it was her, but she had left her kids with her mom so she could walk fast. Then I did the party and stayed over at my mom's Wednesday night.
Thursday we went and visited my dad, and he did an impromptu bbq for me because I love his hamburgers....mmmm......so nice.

We also spent sometime playing on the grass. Wesley really likes eating leaves and really does NOT like when I take the leaves out of his mouth.

We also stopped in to visit my Grandma Bishop who lives with them. She said, "Is he a boy? Because he is beautiful enough to be a girl." Which she always says when she sees him. I wish we would have spent more time with her that day because it was the last time we saw her before she fell.

9 Month Check Up

Wesley had his 9 month well child check.
He is 25th percentile height and 3rd percentile weight. He only cried for minute, and then we visited Daddy for a minute after the appointment.
As we were leaving there were some large white women wearing pajama pants just outside the doors, and as the door opened I could hear them speaking perfect Chinese (they did not look like the type of people who would be fluent in another laungue, but who am I to judge when I only speak English myself). It was quite surprising. It turns out that there were actual Chinese people behind me, and in space between the doors had carried the sound just right to create the illusion.

A Naturey Weekend

Saturday, we went and checked out Stoke Nature Center. There is a little hike up to a quaint building. It was a fun little time in the mountains.
Later that day Tim and Wendy came up to visit. We went to the cheese factory, and then back to our house. Friends sure are awesome.

Sunday after church we drove around some super small towns and found this beautiful field and lake. I want to take family pictures here.
(The weird lines in the picture are rain drops) Wes playing in laundry basket Sunday evening. (Oops, now you know that I didn't fold the laundry yesterday...oh, well.)
