As April continued on we:
Tried to spend more time my friend before she moves out of state. Wes is going to miss his friend Josh.
Wes was pulling some funny faces at a restaurant we went to.
We played and explored.
Stretch Hummer at the Costco gas pump. It was quite a bit longer then my camera would show.
The kids tried ring-pops.
I had a very quick little trip to SLC to help my mom. I always over pack so this time I tried packing lighter. Brynn ended up in Wesley's shirt from the day before because it was the cleanest thing she had.
This kid and his faces.
So on our way down to help my mom we went to my friend's 6 year-old's birthday party. Brynn has been doing stairs just fine. She handled the stairs with all the kids with no problem. As we were about to leave she fell down. I was only a couple of feet from her, but I was moving in slow motion to trying to reach her as her body flipped like a rag doll down. It was only a few seconds, but they were some of the scariest of my life. I didn't know what I would find when I reached the bottom. The first relief was with the cry. I got down there and didn't know if I should pick her up because her head and neck and hit the stairs over and over. Thankful she got up and came to me. I held her and cried. She was fine. Not a bruise. I said many prayers of thanks.
Sunday evening we were home again, and Brynn was on the play set. She tripped and flew head first out. Bret put his arm out and slowed her fall while I dived down like a volleyball player and thankfully caught her. Thankfully another almost but nonevent.
Then a couple of days later she fell off the trike while trying to climb on the truck. Again all she got was a road rash, but I was on the brink of a heart attack.
The road rash started to look very yellow and was cracking. It wasn't infected, but it was very dry. I put some lavender oil mixed with olive oil on it. It was shallow but wide so I put a big band aid to cover it. I didn't think about how much worse the bandage made her owie look much worse then it was until Sunday at church when everyone kept asking what happened. Oops.
These kids are so cute.
One day while we were working in the yard Brynn kept sneaking into the garage to climb in the stroller. That isn't anything new, but she would stand up to grab the bike. I would tell her to sit down, but as soon as I started to turn she would stand up again. Stinker.
Her innocent, "Who me?" look. (Her eyes are so bright they seem to glow sometimes.)
It was after 5:00pm on day and Brynn was still napping so I had to wake her up. She did not want to wake up.
She really just wanted to cuddle and sleep. It was sad it was so late because I didn't want to wake her.
She eventually woke up and got to eat outside while we worked (we've been working in the yard every chance we get).
He's a digger.
So since Janaury Wes has been scared of pooping. Not just pooping in the potty but pooping at all. It was really quite a difficult thing. He would sit and scream it hurt but would hold it in. I won't go into all the things we did, but pooping and the potty because quite the exciting thing. Wes is doing awesome now, and Brynn LOVES the potty. She'll go sit on it on her own. I'll pull off her diaper every once and awhile and let her sit on it because it makes her so so happy. Nothing happens but that's not the point.
One day at the end of April, I was rocking her and she started pulling at her diaper and saying,"Poo poo po-ee!" So I took off her diaper and let her sit there. The funny little stinker totally went. She was so proud. We called my mom and she was so happy to call out ,"po-ee po-ee!" Daddy didn't answer his phone, but she was happy to talk about it again when he got home. She went the next day as well, but not the day after that. I am not really worried about actively potty training her this young, but it sure is fun to see her try.
I like window pictures.
One day Brynn came in with a hat for Wes and one for herself. Once the hats were she ran to the door, "Ou-I" (outside). What a funny kid. We finished getting ready and went out.
My dad and step-mom had a funeral north of me and stopped by on their way back. We were sorry for their loss but glad they could stop and see us. The kids are always happy to spend time with their grandparents.
