I guess I should tell you...

Continuing last weekend (don't worry I'll explain the title in a minute)...
Sunday morning Wes and I packed up and headed back home. My mom has this nice wagon that makes it easier to haul loads to car. Wes loved riding in the "brmm brmm." In fact it was next to his pack-n-play overnight, and he was so excited in the morning when he woke up and saw it.
On the way home I called Bret to tell him we were coming. Then he said,"So I guess I should tell you I bought a truck yesterday." That made me laugh really hard for a while. Let me explain why this was okay. We have talked about him getting an old truck for months now. At one point it was going to be a birthday present (his birthday day is in the beginning of March). He's looked for trucks on and off since then. So we had already agreed about getting one. I just didn't realize he would get one during the 24 hours I was gone.
At one point while I was driving we hit a bad storm (don't worry, I wasn't on the phone). I had the wipers going full blast, slowed way down, and still had to put my nose an inch away from the windshield to see anything. To make it worse there was an inch of water on the road. I was expecting crazy reckless people to angrily fly past me, and I couldn't see well enough to change lanes or pull over. BUT I have to tell you everyone driving around me drove safely for the weather. I was so grateful. If I had to be in scary driving conditions at least I was surrounded by smart drivers.

After church we checked out our new wheels. A 20 year old Ford Ranger.
Not surprisingly, we got Wesley's stamp of approval.
Here she is. What should we name her?
This was Wesley's second time in nursery at church. I had to stay for a minute when I dropped him off, but once he got playing with a car he let me go just fine. After we taught Sunday school we dropped the borrowed supplies off at the library. We peeked through the window at Wes. He was holding the car he started with in one hand, and coloring with the other. He would stop and watch the other kids coloring, and then get back into it. I loved watching him.
After church we talked about nursery and the picture he colored. I read the writing on the top, "I will love others." (Notice the "I" in the sentence.) To which responded by pointing to one of the kids on the picture's eyes and saying, "eye." He is really into parts of the face lately. I have tried to get a video of him saying eye, ear, and nose because he says it so cute. But it's hard to get him to do things for the camera past saying "cheese." Also if you say the word "picture" in any context Wes will say "cheese."

Pictures at Garden Village

I decided to head down to SLC on Saturday even though Bret couldn't come because he was on call. We agreed it would be nice for him to have some alone time, and me to have some fun time.
My mom and sister agreed to meet me at Garden Village. I love it there, especially when I am pregnant.
He is my cute kid decked out in his summer gear. See how the blue hat frames his chocolaty eyes? Didn't do that on purpose, but I like it just the same.
He was more likely to keep the hat on if we turned up the bridge, but it still didn't last too long.
We found this awesome spot to take pictures. I think I may try to do planned family photos here.
Look at that face. Oh, cannot get over it.

Cousins are so fun!
Wes was very interested in the birds or "ber" as he called them.
We had such a nice day, but totally lost track of time. I hadn't planned on staying the night, but all the sudden it was 7:00pm (although it was so bright it felt like 5:00pm), and I still had to stop at the store to buy baby food to feed Wes dinner. By the time we finished feeding him I was too tired to drive home. Luckily last minute before we left I threw the pack-n-play in the car just in case.
It was still such a nice day, and I really enjoyed hanging out with my girls (plus Wes).

Reaching

Slam dunks are not too much of a reach for this boy. He is also a wonderful multi-tasker. He is playing basketball while he is telling his uncle about basketball on the phone.
Watching kid video's on the "pooter." Notice the cute tip toes?
Finding a way to reach the "blah" (translation lights and light switched).
Where the is a will there is a way no matter how small you are.

Ward Garden

I have such and amazing ward full of amazing people. My bishop agreed to set aside some land on his farm and with the help of some other amazing people the ward garden was set up. I wasn't sure if I was going to do it because I have land for a garden, but I really need some knowledge. We had a garden as a kid (that I LOVED), but it's been so long I feel kind of lost. So I am doing the ward garden, and I am so excited. I think I may plant a few things in my own garden to try and learn as much as possible. Plus, I saw a banana pepper plant at the store, and I can't stop thinking about banana peppers, and I don't think the ward garden has one.
Wes loved helping to plant the garden. Mostly he just threw dirt, but he did actually plant a few seeds. PS how do I teach him to stop throwing dirt?
I really do live in a beautiful valley!

Circus Party and Parade

My neighbor's cute little boy turned 1, and Wes was invited to the party. It was a circus theme, and it was so cute. There were lots of fun activities and food (including my craving of the week, nachos). Wes had is professor Wesley face for the first little while as he watched the different things.
Finally he started to warm up and get interested in the different things to do.
Bret came by after work, and Wes really started to open up and participate in the fun.
The party was in our favorite local park, and the weather was PERFECT.
Wesley loves to grab Bret by the legs like this and walk around all the time.

The next morning was a parade right by my house. It was so fun. It wasn't too hot, and it was a only short walk from my house. Bret had to work so he couldn't go, but Wes enjoyed it. We were sat by our neighbor's and the twins were sweet to share candy with Wes, but all he wanted was his two lollipops and sippy cup.

Little Adventures Around the House

Weekends are fun, but can sure wear this little guy out. He went to bed late on Saturday night and missed his nap on Sunday. He fell asleep on Bret's lap, and looked so cute and peaceful. He only falls asleep in his bed, the car, or once in a while at church if he's sitting with some else. So this was extra special Mother's Day gift to me.
Wes was putting my clothes on his head to get attention. He is so funny.
He also found a great place to sit while I got ready.
I was so happy with the way my house was looking. The flowers in the front looked so pretty once they all started to bloom, and my grass was coming in. I was going to take a picture and didn't. Then the 3 year old twins decided to harvest some of my flowers to make a "banner." I tried to my an arrangement with short tops of the flowers. Anyway, their parents handled it, and luckily you only noticed the missing flowers if you looked closely. And then the wind storm happened. And all of my flowers ended up looking worse for the wear. And the siding over my garage cracked and was hanging off. Oh yes, and the weeds took over my grass. In a short time my house went from making me smile because I love the way it looks, to making my laugh because it looked so bad. We are working on getting in back into shape, but sometimes you just have to laugh.
I learned that you should not put lotion on your child right before you give him yogurt. He is usually not too messy with it...except for when he rubs it all over himself like lotion. Did I mention that he had a bath like 20 mins before this picture was taken?
Well, life is always a little bit of an adventure, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Videos

Here are a few video's of my little guy. I know I just pretty much blog about him, but he is my world.

This video is too long, and it's the same thing the whole time. Wes loves "brrmmm brrrmmm's."

Danger is his middle name:

Dancing to his favorite song:

It's hard to see, but there are construction trucks in the distance.

18 Months Old

Wesley turned 18 months on the 5th, and I cannot believe my little baby boy is getting so big!
Wesley loves books, brrmm brrrmm's (aka anything with wheels or a motor), and balls.
Wesley loves talking on the phone, playing peek-a-boo, finding adventure, and climbing on anything he can no matter how dangerous it is.
Outside is Wesley's favorite place to be. If you aren't planning on going outside then you better not say the word or it will be sad.
Wesley hits and throws things when he is frustrated, and can throw a terrible two's

Wesley is saying new words everyday, and I can't even keep up with all he says. When he first started talking it was the sounds of things. All animals were "woof woof," clocks "tick tocks," and so on. It made me laugh that cock-a-doodle-doo or more accurately "dook-a-loodle-doo" was one of his first words, as well, as, "wa-hoo." When Wes is really excited he'll run through the house going "wa-hoo dook-a-loodle-doo," over and over. He would also say "boom" to everything else he liked that he didn't have a word for.
Over the last few weeks he's started saying actual words more. Dogs are now "dogs," and the say "woof woof." He loves pointing to and saying eye, ear, nose. Brrmm brrmm's are still brrm brrmm. But each day there is another new word. Sometimes it's something we are saying, and sometimes he points to something out of the blue and says it's name.

He is such a little teaser. He started teasing before a knew a baby could. He loves to be silly and make us laugh. He is still eating mostly baby food, and it looks like we are going to have to take him to food rehab. But the good new is he is healthy and growing. He has gone from 3rd percentile to 5th percentile in weight. He is now 25th percentile in height instead of 10th percentile.
My Wesley is such a sweet and loving boy, and I am so grateful to be his mother. Everyday is an adventure.

Sunny Day

It was a beautiful, sunny morning so we went out to take pictures for this post. We stopped at the play ground down the road, and Wes has so much fun. He was so excited to ride in this "brrmm, brrrmm."
Always the big helper.
And he finally started playing on the play set that our neighbors gave us when they moved.
Here are my daffodils. I really like them better then regular ones because they aren't as awkward.

Faces

The next two pictures were taken seconds apart from each other.
I told Wes "no" just to make him frown because I wanted a picture of his frown, and my husband disapproved. But as you can see I made him happy again in no time at all. So I think it is okay.

Wes climbed up on his high chair later that day and it tipped over giving him a fat lip. Poor kid. His pouty lip looked twice as sad when it was half swollen.

Pics from my other camera

So I thought I had blogged all of April, but then I realized I had pictures on my point and shoot camera I had never put on my computer. So here they are:
Wes went to his friend, Jordan's birthday party. We stopped for pizza on the way down, and Wes was so excited about the balloon they gave him that he held it while he napped.
It was a super cute blimp themed party, complete with an Easter egg hunt (eggs are shaped like blimps).
Wesley has so much fun at the party. It was good for me, too. It was the first time I had been more then 1/2 mile from my house in 5 weeks.
Wes enjoys sitting in on this decorative suitcase in the corner. He's such a kid. He loves finding and sitting in cool little places.
