The Last 1st Holiday

With the exception of his birthday. Halloween is Wesley's last 1st holiday. I only got a picture of our dinner on the actually holiday, which is weird. But here you go. Jack-o-lantern stuffed peppers.
We went to church, and the I can home and did some cooking. I made from scratch cinnamon rolls to take to a gather at a ward members home later in the evening. Before they were done the power went off. I was unsure home much time was left on the timer so I left them in the oven while the power was off. It was off for an hour and they over cooked...sad. It was funny though. Wes had a shirt with a mummy that glowed in the dark, and as soon as the lights went out it started to glow. When the power turned on we went to the end of the party, and had a lovely time.

Trick or Treat

We started the day off by going treat or treating at the mall. Wesley is not so happy that there is something touching his head.
While we were in line Wesley got his first taste of candy (just a tiny bit of a pixie stick).
He wanted more.
After we stopped at the grocery store by our house to trick or treat, and they gave out cool stuff like cheese, a finger flashlight, balloon, chocolate milk, and so on. The balloon was his favorite.
Here are my boys in there matching shirts.
Wesley has been toddling about for a little while, but a few days ago decided that he is done with crawling.
I carved a pumpkin on the porch in the evening, and it was fun to watch the little trick-or-treaters running around.
Costume time! We went trick or treating to just a few house. One of my neighbors bought animal crackers for the babies to have something they can eat. I thought that was so thoughtful.
After Wesley spent a long time put his loot in and out of the bucket.

Ghost Pumpkin

Look at this cool gourd that looks like a ghost.
Is there any way to preserve it?

Wesley's First Award

Wesley won "SCARIEST COSTUME"
My costume was last minute because my original idea didn't work out. Long boring story (I know you are shocked I didn't bore you with it. Nice change.)
So I ended up just throwing on one of my husbands pharmacy coats, and calling my self a scientist that created Jurassic Park. After all I did use my DNA to make Wesley. But I didn't do much with the costume because we were running late and Bret was working late. Plus, the baby is cute enough for the both of us.
I also just wanted to throw in a picture of my chandler. I didn't do much Halloween decorating this year because we were busy with the yard, but I did this. It's one of Wesley's favorite things. He always points and coos at it, and so he was extra interested by the decoration.

Corn Maze

Wes fell asleep in the car, and amazingly stayed asleep for a little while once we got him out.
Bails of hay...perfect photo op.

When Bret and I first started dating my mom got pictures of him practicing with a lasso at the American West Heritage Center. Since that is were the corn maze was and since there was a lasso he was playing with, I thought would take a picture of it.
We had to take off his cute pumpkin shirt because it was such a warm day. But the undershirt didn't really go with the pants. Oh well, he's still supper cute.
There were random peacocks running through the corn maze.
Here's what Wes thought about the corn maze.
Wes and his pumpkin.
Other fun activities from the day.
My little pumpkin loves pumpkins.
We had a nice time enjoying a fun fall day and doing autumn activities.

Fun in the Highchair

Wes loves his Jack-o-lantern balloon. He takes it everywhere with him, and insists with a pointing finger and grunts that it be tied to his highchair when he is in it.
Coloring is so exciting. It would be more fun if Mom would let him eat the crayons.

Sharing

Wesley loves to share is food. It makes him giggle if we pretend to eat it, but he if Bret or I actually eat the food in his hand it makes him so happy.
What does this calzone look like to you?
If you said witches hat then you are right! I love Halloween!

Lotion...mmm...blaaahhh...

While I was dealing with a naughty kitty, Wesley got into the lotion. He was excited about his yummy treat, and well...I was not so excited about it.
I put the lid on to take a picture, and that didn't work. So I took it away.
Wes was not excited about that.
He spread the lotion all over my room and half way down the hall.
Of course because I was a lotion eater as a child, my mother had no sympathy.

Pushing It

Wes loves to push things all over the house.

Wesley's grandma got this for the grandkids when they visit. It was a big hit.

Can you tell someone needed a nap?

Books, Balls, Bum

The sprinkler men came to do our sprinklers today. Yay!
We put Wes in the stroller to watch.
Wes makes me laugh so hard.
We also just got the baby gate, and we are so happy. No more junky looking boxes or pails of wheat blocking our stairs. It took us a while to find a gate wide enough for our stairs. We were excited for the pet door so the cats could get to the litter box. Well, the cats fit through the side and Wes can fit through the door. So although it was a nice thought the pet door will stay shut for now.
I just love the way his cute little bum looks inn his jeans!

Lagoon and Conference Weekend

I love General Conference, especially the October session. And we ended up having a lovely weekend. We started out by going to Lagoon with our good friends, Karl and Charles. My brother and mother watched Wesley for us. It's the longest I have been away from my little guy, but he had a great time with my mom. They went to the Lotus Festival down town (We decided to go last minute, and I asked my mom last minute to watch him. She had plans already, but she was happy to take him with her).
Here are our friends. I am glad that Charles has his gangster face on.
Here we are smashed into a cart on one of the rides.
Saturday morning we got up and watched both sessions Conference with Bret's father. His mother is back East with her sister who is ill. I love listening to the words of the prophets. I always feel refreshed and inspired after listening to the talks. It's like taking a shower for my soul.
Bret went to dinner and to priesthood session with his dad and brother. I went and ran some errands, and met up with my mom at Toys"R"Us. Wes like playing with this train set. And I got some new tub toys for Wesley. I spent some time with my mother, sister, and niece.
We watched Conference Sunday morning with Bret's father again. Visited my dad in between sessions, and then listened to the afternoon session on the way home.
So I don't know why I blog so many details. I can't help it. Anyway, even though it is always a run around with we visit home. I am grateful for some many wonderful people in my life.
