Our House April 29th

The beginnings of a roof.
Looks cool from this angle.

e-doption

I went to the adoption for one of my past foster kids this week. The little girl was very excited to be "e-dopted", and she is such a sweet child. When Wes woke up from his nap she gasped and said, "He has my eyes!"

After the adoption I took doughnuts to my old coworkers. It was a good day. It made me remember the things that I liked about my job. There were so many hard things about it, but there were things I enjoyed. The job also taught me so much about myself, others, the way the world works, and the atonement.

I love my new job the best! There is no secondary trauma involved now. A little less sleep, but so much joy! Oh, I love taking care of my little guy!

Before the adoption I got my hair cut, and Uncle Alex watched Wesley for me. Wes loves his uncle, and they had fun playing while I was gone. Wes isn't smiling in this picture because he is busy trying to grab his ear, a new past time of his.

Nerd Test

Everyday shirt.woot.com has a different humorous shirt you can buy. This shirt makes me laugh every time I think about it. If you know why it is funny then you are probably a giant nerd...but it's quite fun to be nerdy so don't worry.

If you don't know why it's funny, but are curious check the comments for an explanation.

(I am laughing to myself right now. So funny.)

Our House April 24th

Here's our cute baby eating his dinner just before we went to go check out the house. We had seen the house the day before, but we decided it would be fun to go check.

When we got to the house no one was working on it, so we decided it would be fun to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised to see how much of the house was framed.

Here's the view out our front door. The porch still needs to be poured so you can see the cold storage in the basement.

Here's our kitchen and living room.

The view out the window over the sink.
Coming up the stairs looking down the hall.
Backyard. I can't get the video of the main floor to work, but here is a tour of our basement.

Our New House

Bret and I are now under contract! We are so excited!
Here's a cute picture of Wesley all dressed up and ready to house hunting.
This is what our house looked like on Friday...
No, not the one in the far background,
Yep, the hole in the ground with the CAT working on it.
Today we went and picked out the colors. Oh, it's so fun and exciting.
The house should be done by June 15th. So it will be fun to see the progress.
Here's what the house looks like today.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress.

New Trick

So here is Wesley's new trick. He's is not doing it in the video as well as he normally does because he is distracted by the camera.

The trick has evolved over the last couple of weeks. He as added doing raspberries in between or at the end, and today he was trying to do the trick with his toes. Cute kid.

Yum Yum

Wesley's First Easter

Bret and I decided to take a trip to spend the long weekend with our families. We spent half of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there, and I thought that there would be so much time to see everyone. Unfortunately, I was wrong...time just flew by.
Friday I went to the dentist down there because I haven't found one up here yet. I was sure I had tons of cavities, especially from throwing up so much while I was pregnant. Sometimes I LOVE being wrong... No cavities!
We celebrated my grandma's 92nd birthday on Saturday, and it was good to see the my Dad's side of the family. I don't know why I always forget to take pictures when I am at my Dad's and in-laws. But I did get this cute picture of Wesley with his Punka. (I think my Dad has such pretty eye.)

Wes took a little nappy nap with his aunt Lissy.

We had fun dying eggs at Naunnie's house. (I have some cute pictures of Wes with the eggs I need to get from my phone.)

The Easter Bunny came and brought Wesley a basket full of toys and baby food. The Easter Bunny thinks she is so funny because she made the toy bunny hold the carrots.

Wes was super cute supper cute with his basket.Bret and I got new phones the day before, and Wes got a phone of his own.

We had Easter brunch with my mom, and I thought the table looked so pretty.
The Bunny brought Wesley baby food because Wes got to try rice cereal for the first time at Easter brunch. I was surprised at how much he loved eating.

We had dinner with Bret's side of the family. It was a really nice weekend. I am so grateful my family. I am also very grateful for the reason we celebrate Easter. I am grateful that Christ atoned for our sins, and died that we might live. I know the Jesus was resurrected and the He Lives. He blesses me so abundantly and because of him I have so much joy in this life and the life to come.

Cheese Head

We went visited our friends, Tim and Wendy, while we were in Salt Lake for Easter weekend. They put this hat on Wes, and the picture makes me laugh so hard.

4 month Shots and Torticollis

Here are some pictures after Wesley got his 4 month vaccinations. We were a couple of weeks late because we had to wait to get into the new pediatricians.
What a sad little face...
His started really getting into kicking right about then, but his right leg was so stiff that he kicked it much slower.
The pediatrician also diagnosed Wes with Torticollis because his neck bends to the left. I had heard about this condition because my visiting teaching companion's son is only a couple of weeks younger than Wes and has it.
The morning of his first physical therapy appointment the garbage truck woke Wesley up too early, and he cried all morning. The appointment was at 10:00am, and I was nervous that it was going to be a nightmare...Luckily I was wrong. Wes is such a flirt and loves attention. He completely charmed the physical therapist and the intern that was shadowing her. I was also happy to hear that Wesley has a pretty mild case. We just have to do stretches at home with a couple of follow up appointments. Wes is not a fan of the stretches when I do them, but doing them in front of the mirror helps.

Walk In the Park

We love walking and spending time outside. The end of March was full of beautiful spring days.
Going down the slide (Wesley's hat has looks funny because it's pushed up weird, but we still had fun).

Formidable Opponent

Wow, so it's been awhile since I have blogged. We got a new computer, and it took me too long to put pictures on it.
Wes loves to play with his bobbley penguin. Here are some pictures from March 22nd when he won a wrestling match against this fierce opponent.

The penguin is really giving him trouble here....

But Wes comes out victorious.Wes had just finished rolling over in this picture. I had to add it in because I love the surprised look on his face. Here's some life action footage...his cute little leg kicking.
