We have had some big changes over the last couple of weeks.
We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house. Wes had been a little congested the night before, but was fine all day. Unfortunately by the end of the evening he seemed pretty sick.

We took his temperature when we got home, and it was 101 degrees. We called the on-call doctor who said to take him to Primary Children's Hospital to get checked.
It was so sad they used a catheter to get a urine sample and took a bunch of blood. Wes was so sad. His tear filled eyes seemed to say, "Why are you letting them do this to me?" Oh, broke my heart. World's worst Christmas present. Luckily it was just a virus, and we were able to go home. We did learn that there are hardly any cars on the road at 4:00am Christmas morning, but we didn't see Santa.
Wes rested a lot on Christmas.

Here is his poor bandaged hand from the IV.
We didn't get many pictures but we spent time with Bret's family. It was nice to live in Bret's parent's basement apartment because we didn't have to go out of the house to see them.
My dad and Les also came by to visit and that was so nice.
Bret and I had our 3rd anniversary on the 27th. It was a Sunday so we celebrated on Monday. My mom came over and watched Wes while we went out to dinner. We were going to go to a movie, but I was too tired. (Wow, being a parent is crazy.) So we got a Red Box and watched a movie at home.
Before we left we got a picture, and Wes just whipped out this big ol'smile. He is such a cute happy baby.
Monday morning Bret received a telephone call to let him know he got a job. It is out of county, but a town that I love. We are so excited. I made some calls to figure out what I needed to do about my job, and found out that Monday was the last day I could quit without having to pay back my insurance premiums or go back for at least 30 days. So I went in and quit. I felt bad leaving so abruptly, but because I was on FMLA I didn't have any cases.
I am so excited that I can be a stay at home mom. My job really helped me grow, and I learned so much about myself and the world. But I am excited to look after my own child's welfare now.
After I left the office we went to an appointment with the pediatrician to follow up from the hospital trip. Wes weighed 10lb 4oz on Christmas morning and was up to 10lb 7oz. He also looked much better. The doctor gave us saline drops for his nose which helped his congestion so much.
Wesley's hair receded and he ended up with a mullet.
I kept finding spit up in my hair and Wes kept pulling it out, so I decided to cut my hair.

My hair dresser is so great. Let me know if you need a good one and I will give you her information.
We spent New Year's Eve with my in-laws, and we went to my mom's on New Year's Day to celebrate my niece's birthday.
Saturday we went to Bret's family party. After, I got this cute picture of my boy sitting on his dad's lap.
Today we drove an hour and a half each way to find a place to live because Bret starts work in a week. The frost was beautiful, and we found a place that we really like and can move into right away.

Wes was so good all day, but he thought it was weird that we changed his diaper in the car.

He loves his daddy.

This holiday season has been full of adventures: Wesley's first trip to the emergency room and his first Christmas all on the same day. Bret getting a job he really wanted. Finding an apartment out of county. Me quitting my job and cutting my hair off.
All in all we are so happy and excited about how things have turned out. I feel so grateful for all of my amazing blessings.
