Pioneer Day

Oh how I enjoy 4 day weekends. Thursday I hung out with my mom all day while Bret was at work. Then we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house with Bret and his parents. It is a really beautiful temple. It's been cool to go to two open houses only a few months from each other. I went to the Draper temple with my mother and a couple of coworkers in March. I am so grateful to have two more temples in the Salt Lake Valley.

I watched the parade Friday morning, and we had a nice day at home. We then went over to our friends, Tim and Wendy's home and had a delicious dinner that involved grilling potatoes, meat and and red bell pepper slices on a special grill while fancy cheese melted underneath. It was delicious, but we left after dinner because they had family events to attend. We stopped of at my mom's for a few minutes before heading over to Kip and Shannon's. We could see a few fireworks out sliding doors, and I showed Shannon some blogging tips. This is the only picture I got of the 24th.
The best part is the weekend isn't over yet!

7/11

We went camping on the the 10th with Bret's brother. We went clear up American Fork canyon to a hard to get to spot that was suppose be remote. Unfortunately there were tons of noisy people around. But it was still really pretty and fun. Bret and I got a blow up mattress and I am really grateful for that thing. It made the night time much nicer.
We took a few minutes to check out the lake before we left the next day.
Later on 7/11 we went to a movie and stopped and got Slurpees.

Celebrating the Red, White, and Blue

We started the day off with the parade. It was nice because it was over cast for most of the morning so it didn't get super hot. (I really like my ridiculously big sun glasses.)
My nieces dog howled with the sirens from the firetrucks.
One of the men driving the cars stopped and proposed to the girl sitting next to us. We had lunch with my mom, rested at home for a bit, and then stopped off at my dad's for a little bit, and then went to my mom's for dinner and fireworks at the park.
Bret, me, and my baby bump.
Sparklers!
We watched the firework show, and we ended up being in the perfect spot and the show was amazing.
