Baby Names

We are still haven't decided on a name for the baby for sure yet, but I did get this great card and suggestion from one of my niece's friends. Eight year olds sure are great.
I am pretty sure we aren't going to name the baby Anistasia. My neighbor had called J'miracle Obama, but she didn't use it so it's fair game now. Hmmm....so many possibilities. Except president names or names that end in -son. They don't work with my last name well. Any suggestions on names you like?

Corn Maze 2011

We headed out to the corn maze at the American West Heritage Center. We still have so much to do around the house to get ready for the baby, but we need to have some fun too.
We had such a fun time when we went last year. He's grown up so much in the last year, but then again he is twice as old.
Last Year
This Year
The steam tractors were super cool, and Wes liked that they looked like trains.
In addition to the corn maze they have other fun activities.

What a beautiful world we live in.

Wes really enjoyed going down the giant slide. After I took this picture I scooted down the slide a little to get a better angle, but I ended up accelerating faster then I thought and down I went.
My boys at the top of the slide.

Of course we couldn't leave before we did the corn maze. I usually like to just go in without looking at the map and wander around all crazy. This year we were tired and following the map ended up being the best choice for us.

Cuddling with Daddy when he is tired is something that hasn't changed in the last year.

We went back to look at the tractors a second time.
And fed the goats on our way out. Have you ever noticed that goats have alien eyes?
All in all it was a good day, and we still got somethings done around the house.
Next year we will have little Baby Beta with us. I am so excited to meet her!

Ward Halloween Party

Wesley has been putting blankets over his head and pretending to be a ghost for the last 3 or 4 months. So with the help of my awesome neighbor we made a ghost costume out of an old sheet donated by my awesome fried.
Well, Wes refuses to put it on. I can't even get a picture of him in it. I had been hoping we would put it on when we got around other kids in costumes but I was wrong. Last year he won an award for his costume, and this year he didn't wear one. Oh, well what can you do.
He did let me put dark eye shadow around his eyes, but with out the costume it just made him look ill. He did insist on carrying his book around for half of the night.
He did get this cool bug painted on his face.
Costume or no, we had a really fun time. Let's just hope that he'll wear his costume on Halloween. At least long enough for me to get a picture.

All the sticky finger prints are so much easier to handle when I remember the precious hands that put them there.

37 Weeks

I have been trying to get pictures throughout my pregnancy because I will glad about it later. Right now if makes me grumpy because I feel so frumpy, but I am just trying to suck it up.

Here I am at 37 weeks which is considered full term. Which means whenever she comes she will be safe. It's such a good feeling to get to this point. I don't think she will come early, but it's comforting to know she is fine whenever she decides to come.
I have been washing and getting her little things ready so the chaos will be minimized when she gets here. I still have so much to do so I am not ready for her to come just yet. I still need to move Wesley's room and do a Ton of organizing and cleaning.

I bought these little shoe socks for her a couple of weeks ago. I received a gift of little socks that looked like shoes with Wes, and I loved the way they looked with his cute little outfits. I am excited to have little ballet slippers socks to go with her feminine little clothes.
Wes with yogurt in his hair and knocking things over while wearing Daddy's shoes.
My neighbor friend came over and showed me how to makes these cute flowers. She made the top two, and I did the bottom two. She is so talented and cute.
I am going to go buy some more fabric and make a hot pink flower to put next to the blue flower (At least that's the plan. Let's see if I make it to the fabric store or not).

I am so excited to meet my little girl. Please pray for me to have a few more days of feeling good so I can get my home ready for her arrival.

Words of Comfort

I can't really remember the dream I had tonight, but I woke up with a feeling of despair. As I awoke my mind caught upon the thought of Christ, and I found some comfort knowing that the Spirit would help me feel better.

I was also feeling very thirsty. I got up and got a drink of water. I currently cannot drink water quickly without vomiting. Gross I know, but a reality that I have to deal with. I still felt icky physically and emotionally so came to the computer (Bret doesn't turn it off on nights he is on-call in case he quickly needs access information for work). I typed in lds.org and the October General Conference link came up. I decided to sip on water while I listen to some of the talks originally slept through. I did have to laugh a little because I slept when I should have been listening to conference, and then I was listening to conference when I should have been sleeping.

The Spirit of the Lord truly brings comfort and hope. I am so grateful for modern day prophets and the messages they give.

PS I just threw up. Oh, I am excited to be able to drink water without getting sick. In the mean time it is just a small affliction compared to having the joy of this little girl for all eternity.

B Ba

Wesley has a Leap Frog movie called Letter Factory. I have heard great things about it from different mothers about how much it has helped their kid learn their letters. I am amazed at what a good movie it is.

I worry about Wes watching too much TV. During my first trimester when I was so sick I could barley get off the couch I watched a lot of TV, but Wes was still little enough at the time that he didn't sit and watch it. Now he will sit and watch it. In fact, he loves watching TV. If I let he would probably spend hours everyday watching it.

I feel guilty about him watching TV at all, but I still feel pretty sick a lot. I have found though that if I let him watch Letter Factory while I take a nap next to him on the couch I feel better. Which in turn makes me a better mom the rest of the day. I still feel guilty about it, but it's nice he is at least watching something educational.

Letter Factory combined with the fact that Wes already loves books and reading has really opened him up to the world of letter. A couple of weeks ago we were driving home, and Wes got so excited and started pointing to all the signs around and said, "B ba." He was so excited to have see them around. (B ba is what he calls letters.)

The other day we were driving home and there was a big bag of Halloween candy in the front seat. Wes kept pointing and crying to the bag. He refused a piece of candy when offered. He just kept pointing and crying for about 10 minutes. Finally he says, "Num Num Ba!" He could see the letters on the bag and wanted me to tell him what they were. We spent the next 15 minutes talking about letter sounds and singing the alphabet song.

His new thing is to say a word with the letter wound repeated at first. He is usually right when he says, "Wa wa wa Wesley." He is still wrong a lot and will say things like, "Ba ba Mommy!" I will correct him and then we will way it together. I wish that I could get a video of his cute exited voice as we play the game.

Wes doesn't know all his letters yet, but I am surprised at how many he does know for how little he is. The thing that makes me happy is that he is showing such a love of learning. It is fun to watch how fast he is growing.

My smart little guy playing in a box. How could I not include a picture of my favorite little boy.

Touch a Truck

We drove down to SLC this weekend. I wanted to do some shopping at stores we don't have up here (only made it to one of the stores)and visit the grandparents one last time before the baby comes. The main event of the weekend was Touch a Truck. It is a brilliant way to raise money for charity. There are tons of big trucks that kids can get up close and personal with.

I was excited for my little brmm brmm boy to go. He started calling the trucks by there different names; Front loader (well he calls it fronty loads), garbage truck, tow truck, garbage truck, and so forth. If you call his front loader toy a tractor he will give you a strange look.

Here we are getting ready to go up in the bucket truck.
Bret and Kylie went first.
This is the second picture of me that looks like my belly button is sticking out, but it is an allusion. My belly button doesn't stick out because of the scar from having my gallbalder out.
Wes had been excited to "go up in the sky," but then he felt a little nervous once we got in the bucket.
Wes, Baby Sister, and the Mommy up in the sky.
Here I am laughing at myself because being 8 months pregnant makes climbing in and out of the bucket is super awkward.
Sitting in a real firetruck.
Family photo.
Wes with his Naunnie and Kylie.
Wesley had on his professor face for a long time as he studied everything.
Wes wasn't sure what to think about the ambulance.
My little Picaso
Bret helping Wes build he helicopter. Bret is so super awesome. I don't blog about how much I love him often because I don't think he would like that, but I have to say that I love having such an amazing husband.
Wes working on his helicopter...uh kind of.
Bret helping Kylie with he bird house.
Posing on the tractor.
Just as Wes started to smile and I had the perfect shot the camera battery died. Oh, well I guess. I got a ton of pictures, and more importantly we had a fun family day.
