Smoke Detector of Doom

Wesley discovered a new fear.  The smoke detector.
You know that thing that is in every bedroom and you can't cover up.  He particularly dislikes the little light on it.
We talked about how it keeps us safe.  Wes kept insisting we take it down, and I told him we can't because the fireman said we need to have it to help us be safe (it was the best way I could think of to explain fire code a two year old).  He insisted that I stand in just the right place to "block it."  I suggested we make a tent instead.
It has evolved into this.
Gotta love the post nap grog (as long as it's not the grumpy whiny kind).
I want a fireman to tell him it is okay (this kid is obsessed with firetrucks), but I have played phone tag a bit with the fire department here.  We'll see where this goes.  Sometimes he doesn't want his tent, but most of the time he does.  I am grateful we have found a way to help him fell safe in his room.
