The Utah State Fair and Hoogle Zoo

We went to the Utah State Fair on Friday evening and met up with another couple and their son. Here is a horse that we saw. He kept trying to eat from our hands...the problem was we didn't have any food. Bret found some hay on the ground and gave it to him, but he just didn't seem satisfied. Luckily they brought food for him a few minutes later. We also saw a Ninja horse. He was black with a white Ninja symbol on his forehead.
We had fun walking around and looking at the different animals and displays. Our friend's 18 month old was so funny. He knew that cows say moo or "oo", but he also would say "oo" to every other animal.
I realized that I hadn't taken a picture of Bret and I until the end. This was all we got from my camera phone. Oh well, we had so much fun.

The next morning we went to the Zoo with my Dad's side of the family. It was fun to spend time with that side of the family. It made me so excited for my little guy to be born so I can take him to see all the animals. I hope he'll enjoy the zoo. Bret and I both really enjoy looking at animals, and what kid doesn't?
Kevran and Kylie hanging out with the wagon.
My Dad loves elephants. So this picture is great because he's wearing his elephant shirt, my niece is wearing her elephant hat, and there is an elephant in the back ground.
Here we are with the baby elephant. The zoo was so fun because of all the babies: a baby elephant, a baby giraffe, a baby snow leopard, and three baby tigers. And babies are extra fun to me right now because I am about to have one.
Lissy and Kylie had matching braids. I was excited because my sister brought juice boxes which is a zoo tradition from our childhood. She was also super nice to share.
Here's most of us, but my dad, Les, grandma, and brother had already left.
Bret and I love watching the bats. They really are such cool animals.
Here's a fossa. It's a cool animal from Madagascar.
Oh, it was such a beautiful day.
I was a little worried how my feet would feel after the state fair and zoo. Towards the end of both events I thought they may fall off, but I am happy to say that they recovered very quickly. We even went to a Luau on Saturday evening and I was feeling good.

Labor Day

We had a good time over the long weekend. Friday, I went shopping with my mom, and then Bret and I watched a movie at home. Saturday we went up to Park City with some friends who had a nice hotel room and watched the BYU football game. Before the game we went on a walk down a little trail in the rain. I love the rain.
Monday we went on a hike with Bret's side of the family to Doughnut Falls. Warning: If you hike Doughnut Falls on Labor day be prepared for quite the crowd. There really were way over a hundred people there. It was still a fun. Next, we went to a BBQ at my dad's house. We topped off the weekend by going to the Scarlet Pimpernel at Hale Center Theater with Bret's parents. It was a very enjoyable weekend.

Cecret Lake Trial

We went hiking up to Cecret Lake in Little Cottonwood Canyon with Bret's brother. It was a beautiful hike and it was really rejuvenating.Cecret Lake
Bret and Darren spent some time trying to catch the salamanders that live in the lake.

Willow Heights Trail

We decided to get out of the house and go for a little hike, and my sister and Kylie came along.
I love these two pictures of Kylie.
It was a little bit of a challenge to find the trail head so we were pretty excited when found it.Kylie took this picture, and it is a neat perspective.
Yay, we made it.
Bret wanted to get "an action shot." Notice my flying hair?
Shaking hands with a fallen tree.
Make a wish.

Blessing Blanket and Flower Hat

This wasn't for my little one, so don't worry. I know I am having a boy.
In fact I finally decided what I am going to do for his blanket.

I made this for my niece's birthday. She is super cute.

A movie moment I find thrilling...

So I need to update my blog, but I thought I would just share one of my favorite movie moments while procrastinating those updates.

County Fair 2009

We went to the fair on a Saturday evening with my mom, sister, and niece. We started with the samples that they had out, and some of those people really can cook. It was fun to walk around the booths and look at the entries that had been submitted.
