Bear Lake and Birthday

Thursday was my sister's birthday so I made her these bright colored cupcakes.
The drove up that evening after work to stay at my house because we were going camping at Bear Lake the next day. So she didn't get cake and ice cream until late on her b-day.
I made her take a picture of her eating it. What a good sport.
We stayed at the boy scout camp up at Bear Lake because my brother works there.
My little monkey in the tent.
Friday evening we got to play on the beach. Kylie loves this picture because she looks like a mermaid going to save a shipwrecked sailor.
Sandy toes.
Spider I randomly made.
I wanted a kissing picture into the sunset. Bret thought this was the cheesiest idea (which is probably true), and showed his feelings in this picture.
Luckily he is the best and took a cheesy picture for me anyway. Aren't husbands great!
After the beach we went and put warm clothes on.
Beautiful view from our tent.
We went to the boy scout campfire. We missed my brother's skit :(, but it was fun to see the campers.
Random fire across the lake. It was interesting to watch it grow, but I was very happy the next morning when I saw they had put it out. Way to be firefighters.
Wes shared a sleeping bag with my and took up more than half the sleeping bag. I still got some sleep, and we woke up feeling okay the next morning.
Wes playing in the tent. Notice the pack'n play we set up and didn't use.
Wes chilling with his uncle and drinking water.
Saturday morning we packed up and went to the beach to play in the water. My mom watched Wes on the beach while Bret and I went around the lake. I wish we would have had more time to play, but I had to get back to do a booth at the fair. On our way home we stopped and got shakes, burgers, and fries. It was a fun way to celebrate Pioneer Day.

Wow this was a long post, but hey it was my sister's birthday, pioneer day, and Wesley's first camping trip.

The Explorer

Wesley loves exploring and getting into things. Although he keeps me on my toes, it's so fun to watch him play and so much easier the not being able to put him down. Wesley had been inquisitive since before he was born. When I was pregnant Wes would tap and follow along anything that touched my stomach. He is so happy that he can really explore the world around him.
Stuck between a fun and a cool place. Opening and shutting drawers and feeling the cold air come out of the vent are two of my kiddos favorite things.

Wesley enjoys backing into little huts, like this basket or the space under the dishwasher when the door is down.

He also enjoys pulling himself up on things. Especially unstable things like draws he's pulled open and laundry baskets.

Looks like it's time to put locks on the cabinets.
My little Peter Pan likes to chase his shadow. He would reach for his shadow as we walked up the stairs in our old town home, and he's continued the game ever since.

Toys are not as fun to play with as things that he's not suppose to have, but toys are still pretty cool. (Random side note: You can't read it here but his little onsies in the picture above and below say snugglesaurus, and I love when my little sunglesaursus wears them. Although he's usually to busy investigating to cuddle.)

Well we're off to another adventure.

Why we missed part of church and other tidbits from the week

Sunday we walked into the church caught a whiff of the fumes coming out of the babies diaper. So we went to change him right away. There was a family bathroom so Bret was able to help...and yet some how Wes take advantage of his diaper being off. Wes and I ended up wet with lots of pee pee. By the time we went home, changed, and by the time we got back Sacrament Meeting was almost over. At least we got enjoy the rest of church.

This was the nicest outfit he had clean to change him into. Not what he usually wears to church, but the bum sure is cute.

Wes loves to kick the tray up on his swing. You can see his delight even though his leg cover most of his face.
There are big trucks in my backyard all the time. It's kind of cool, but I won't mind when I don't have construction on three sides of me.
Baby yoga: Wes is doing plank position.
Sometimes a potato to play with helps when Mom makes dinner.
Wesley rarely sucks on a binky the normal way. He usually chews on the sides like a teething ring.

Baby's First Vacation

Thursday evening we drove to a condo by Pineview Reservoir with Bret's side. I had be worried because Wes had not be sleeping as well lately and we were staying with Bret's sister's family who have a four month old baby. I was so concerned that the babies would wake each other up all night. Wesley slept so well. I was amazed...sometimes I love being wrong.
Friday we went to Pineview. I thought I forgot my camera so I had to use my cell to take pictures. Later I realised it was just hiding at the bottom of the diaper bag.
Wes and I hung out on the beach while Bret went with the guys on the boat. He wasn't sure about the sand at first, but once he warmed up to it was almost impossible to keep it out of his mouth, except of course when he was distracted by a stick.
Wes hanging out on the beach with his two month old and four month old cousins. Wes wasn't sure if the waves were cool or scary. Bret took the baby while I took a turn on the boat. I went knee boarding, and it took me a while to remeber how to do it, but once I got it I had lots of fun. I realized my need to do some pushups though.
Uncle Darren is super cool.
His hat almost fits.
Tongues are pretty fun.

We went on a hike the next morning. We had heard that there was a great hike for families to a waterfall. The trail started out pretty easy, but then it started getting pretty hard. We finally decided to turn around when it got pretty slippery with big drop offs.

Front of sign.
Back of sign.

Unfortunately we didn't look at the back of the sign that clearly showed the right way to the waterfall. Oh, well. It was still fun and good exercise. I was proud of my little nieces and nephews that did so well on the hike.
Wes was a fan of the hike.
Later that afternoon we went swimming, and then Bret watched Wes while I got to go boating again. I tried the wake board for the first time. I kept almost getting up, and I was getting so close. But the sun was setting so I had to stop. Oh, well maybe next time.

Saturday was a quieter day. We went to a presantation to sell timeshare, and got a little vacation and a $100 american express card.
Wes was napping so we stayed back at the condo while everyone else went to the park. My sister in-law showed me cool trick on photoshop, and I enjoyed spending time with family.

Wesley in his cute pj's. He was in a good mood in mornings because he slept so well.He napped really well, too! I wish he always slept so well.
My nieces and nephews found a cool hiding place in the middle of a ring of trees.
(I made the pink headband in this picture.)
All packed up and ready to leave the condo.
(Packing and unpacking and repacking takes so much longer with a baby. Okay, everything takes longer with a baby, but look how cute he is.)
We ate at the Golden Corral with everyone before heading back. Wes took a little nap on the way to the restaurant.
It was a fun little trip, and I enjoyed spending the time with my husband and his family.

Waving

Wes started waving "Hello" at the beginning of this month, and waving "Goodbye" quickly followed. Wes and I wave to each other all day, and it makes my little guy so happy. Who know that such a simple thing could make us so happy multiple times a day.

Briahna's Blessing

We went down to SLC for the weekend to do some shopping and go to my niece's baby blessing.
Wes really enjoyed the adventures shopping.

And the adventures pretending to drive.

I can't believe that I didn't get any pictures of the blessing day. Briahna is a beautiful little girl with lots of dark hair. My sister in-law decibels her children as vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate because she has a blond, a brunette, and a redhead. It's fun the three baby cousins are all within 6 months of each other.
We were also able to go to my dad's for second Sunday dinner. He made is famous bbq hamburgers.

Here's a picture of some of the junk we bought. I was surprised that my feet didn't hurt much after shopping all day. I actually had a lot of fun.
