A boy, a ball, and a dump truck

Wes loves to crawl in his dump truck, and he loves it more when we push him. Add a ball, and well we have one happy boy.

Not ready for Santa quite yet

I finally put the tree up yesterday. I thought Wes would be a bit of the challenge to keep away form the tree. He does like touching the orientates, and I have to watch him, but all in all he's not too bad. At lead not compared to my naughty cat, Ivory. She stretches up in the middle of the trunk and shakes of the orientates. Ooooooo (said in an angry voice).
I didn't decorate it until Wes was in bed, and I don't have a picture because...well...I have had a hard time keeping it looking nice. Oh, well.

We went to my ward party last night, and it was so fun. I love my neighbors.
Santa came to visit, and Wes was not impressed.
We were planning on him crying so I got positioned with the camera, and Bret stood close so we could get the traditional Santa picture without too much trauma.

I would also like to add (Perhaps this is bragging, but I like to think of it as sharing a minor success with my blog fiends) that I went and worked out after the party. It wasn't the biggest workout, but I still went. Yay! I love endorphins!

Christmas Shopping, Braided Bread and Whatnot

Bret's schedule got shifted around a bit this week, and he had Wednesday off. We went to the mall for a little Christmas shopping. Here's Wes in his stroller and Christmas outfit. This cuteness lasted all of 5 minutes, and then he wanted out. He was only happy if he was pushing the stroller or falling into the clothes on the racks.
Thursday was just a fun day even though Bret worked really late. Wes cracking me up all day.
Here are my little monsters eating. Both of their fur is starting to change. I'll be interesting to watch them change.
Here is my braided bread filled with yummy chicken broccoli junk. I am so happy how it turned out. It is so easy to do, but looks very complicated.
I am trying to decide what to get the neighbors. I may do a sweet version of this bread, or I give out wrapping paper with a cheesy saying. What do you like for neighbor gifts?

It's Begging to Look a lot Like Winter

We got all bundled up and went for a walk one day when it wasn't too stormy. I made the hat to go with Wesley's coat, but it is a little too big. At least he kept it on while we were outside.
Like the huge 90's gloves? I have had the hardest time finding gloves that fit. It seems all the gloves and hats are for 0-12 or 2-4. What about the whole year in between?
Such a pretty winter day.
Our good natured cat. She was purring while Bret made funny faces with her face.
We went down to SLC the Friday the 2nd and stayed overnight. Friday night we went to Harry Potter, and I loved it! I can't read the book around the time I watch the movies, and even without freshly reading them I am still usually mad at parts of the movie. Not this time. I really enjoyed it.

My niece got baptized on December 3rd. It was nice to gather with family for such a special day. Bret's sister and her kid flew down from Idaho for it so we got to see them two weeks in a row. Bret's brother in-law had a meeting in Salt Lake so his boss flew the family down on a private jet. That seems so cool to me.
Wesley looked so cute in his little suit my dad and step-mom got for him. He got tons of compliments.
We stopped for some Mexican on our way home.
Here's just a cute picture of my little man playing with his ball.
I love the view from my back window. I know I take too many pictures of it, but I am going to loose it to the condos soonish.

Go Fetch!

This video is from a while ago, but we still play fetch at least once a day. Crazy funny cat.

What happened to November?

November went quickly as do all months seem to now of days. Brrr....it got so cold at the end. It makes the 35 degree weather we've had this week seem warm.
Here's a beautiful sun set out my back door. I know I probably show too many pictures, but I am going to miss my view when the condos go up. So I am enjoying it now.
Wes drug his balloons around until they stopped floating. The dump truck balloon last almost a month.
Music time with Dad. I love how that cat follows Wes around.
Wes playing fetch with the cat.
Weeeee
The blizzard of 2010 didn't turn out to be too bad, but I was driving in the beginning of it. It was a bit scary. I don't know what I would do without prayer.
It did break our fence more, but the good news is they fixed it last week.
I don't know why it's so funny to watch them shovel the roof, but it is.

And a laughing video because I love my little guy.
I didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving. Crazy, right? But other people did, so I will need to get copies. Here's a little recap of Thanksgiving weekend anyway:
We drove down on Thanksgiving morning because Bret was on call, and had dinner with his parents. His sister and her family were down from Idaho, and it was great to have everyone there. Then I went and had pie with my mom, siblings, and grandma. We had a nice time together, and the food was great.
I got up for Black Friday shopping. I didn't go last year because Wes was only 3 weeks old, but I went the 2 years before and loved it. This year I went at 3:00am and the group of people I went with shopped all night before meeting up with me. We were not on the same page, and I ended up getting ditched and then having wait. They're great people, but I don't think I will start shopping with people who have been shopping for several hours already next time. It just doesn't work. I also won't go that early again. Going at 3:00am makes if the middle of the night instead of early morning. Still I had a fine time, and enjoyed the people I met in line. I think I'll go next year.
We came back home Friday evening because Bret was on call that weekend, but it was nice to be home.
