Not Her Best Moment

Her sad face is kind of humorous.
Wes wanted to be funny too.

A Spring-le of Hope

As the snow melted it started to seem like winter might actually end.
I love when the tulips first start to poke out.

@%*&^@#$ voles!  I have no nice things to say about those stupid rodents.

The puddles of melted snow made sunset quite beautiful.

Herbs

The kids had fun helping me plant the herbs my sister gave me for my birthday.  It's fun to plant things in the winter and watch it grow while we wait for spring.
The dirt was cool it started out small until we added water and then it grew.

Birthday

Bret gave me camera accessories for my birthday.  We had some fun playing with it a bit.

Wes was being a very goofy model.

Brynn decided to get out her princesses dress to work in the snow.

My mom, sister, and nieces came up.  It was fun to see this little baby she growing so fast.

Wesley was insistent on making me a special card to go with my flowers.  He was so sweet about wanting to make it a special day for me.

Look a delicious cake.

Brynn loves her cousin.

Here we all are. I got to try out my remote time.
It was a fun birthday.

Thus Begins February

Ah, the lovely month of February.  Still cold, but hope that the winter might end.
Here are my sweet sleeping angels.

Cuddly kids warming up with Dad after their bath.

Making our own fun as we are trapped inside.

Digging in the snow is almost as fun as digging in the dirt.

We went sledding on a whim.  It was good because it was a perfect day.  The snow was fresh and everything started melting the next day.

One night at about 10:30pm we heard a backhoe going behind our house.  I was hoping they had a good reason for it since it was pretty loud and late.  Turns out the melting snow was causing flooding for some of the town homes behind us.  Backhoe to the rescue.

Decorating for Valentines Day.  The back of Brynn's hair is almost impossible to keep from looking like a crazy birds nest.

Wesley's Valentine's Day party for preschool was the Monday before the holiday.  Wes gave Olfa (from the movie Frozen) valentines that said, "Some people are worth melting for."  The kids had been obsessed with the movie since we saw it.  We watched the songs over and over again on Youtube. The kids got pretty good at singing them.
Here are the kids looking at the valentines Wesley got from school.

Warm towels fresh from the dryer.  One of my favorite childhood memories that I am hoping to pass on.

Look at this crazy cute girl.

Valentine's Day

Bret's parents came up to visit us.  It was fun.  We rarely home anyone drive up to see us, but my dad came the Saturday before.  My mom, sister, and nieces came up the next day.  It was unusual and fun.

Wes looking at his card from Grandma N.
Brynn liked her card, too. (Notice the cool window coverings Bret made?  He's great.)

Cool shells form Mexico Grandma let the kids play with.
Brynn thought Grandpa's hair hat was pretty cool.
We got a babysitter and went out to dinner with my in-laws.  We had a lovely visit, and it was so nice to spend time with them.

Baking Soda and Shaving Cream Sensory Play

We did a little sensory play with mixing baking soda and shaving cream.  It makes a soft silky consistency for the kids to play with.

Then we added vinegar just for fun.
