November 8, 2009

Sunday was the big day that we were going home. We left the hospital on Wesley's due date.

Wesley made us laugh so much when he would hold his binky in and look around the room.
He is so amazingly cute.
I had to get my staples taken out, and I was so nervous. My mom came up and distracted me, and Bret took care of Wes. The nurse was so awesome, and it hardly hurt at all.

We packed up, and then I needed a little break.

Here I am getting Wesley ready to go home.
Here we are ready to go.
We drove home on a beautiful autumn day. The ride home was uncomfortable for me, but Wes seemed to enjoy his car seat and slept the whole time.
Once we were home we realized we were all on our own, and we weren't really sure what we were doing. Still it was nice to be home.

Frankenpumpkin

It is amazing how much fun it is to light things on fire...especially Jack-O-Lanterns. We sure had fun setting Frankenpumkin ablaze.
Look how happy they are:
I love the flames coming out of his eyes!
We brought the fire extinguish just in case, but luckily didn't need.
What he looked like afterward.
Be glad that you can't smell what he smelled like afterward.

Halloween 2009

We went to my Mom's house and carved pumpkins. I was so excited because I found a pumpkin shaped like Frankenstein's head and was so excited. I named him Frankenpumpkin. Bret cut off top and it was full of black mold. So we didn't clean it out and just cut the face out. We decided the best thing to do was to light it on fire with lighter fluid.
My sister's pumpkin was mold free.
Kylie didn't like touching the pumpkin guts because it stung the little cuts on her hand.
She was fine once she got some plastic gloves.
It is a tradition to draw what you want on paper before you put it on the pumpkin.
We are making monster faces to match out monster pumpkin.
I didn't get any good pictures of Alex's pumpkin, but it was a vampire and I really liked the way it turned out.
I love Halloween, but this year I haven't had a chance to do as many fun Halloween things because I have been busy with baby stuff (which is awesome so don't think I am complaining), but it was nice to have a fun Halloween day. And I think carving pumpkins is one of the funnest things.

The Greatest Show on Earth

Friday evening we went to the circus, and it sure was entertaining.
Notice the woman hanging upside down in the background.
The hat came with the cotton candy, and I am so glad that Richard wore it. He was also nice to share his treat.
It made me so happy the elephants would walk holding tails to trunks. The acrobatics and animals were my favorite acts, and the elephants are the best.
When we were going home there was a spotlight that didn't seem too far. I was feeling slightly adventures and so we drove to find it. I've always wanted to follow a spotlight. I always figured it was a haunted house, and it looks like this time I was right.
It was such a good ending to a great evening.
