Close in Counter with a Cheetah

So I shouldn't do a side by side because my version is not as good as the one of the Internet, but I never claimed to be Martha Stewart.

The lion is from familyfun.com. I was going to make it for my niece's birthday party, but she wanted a cheetah. So I just did dots instead of stripes.

Counting My Blessings #25 - My Husband

I included Bret in my blessing about my family, but I want to give him his own special post.

Words cannot express my love and gratitude for my husband. I love how smart and funny he is. I love when he gets his mischievous smile. He is so handsome and smart. He works very hard in school so that he will be able to provide for his family. I love that I can spend hours and hours with him and still want more. I am grateful for eternal marriages and the opportunity to have him always. I love the sound of his voice and subtle freckles. He treats me so well and brings me so much joy. He supports me in my goals and inspires me to be a better person. He loves to try new things and go on mini adventures. I love his green eyes and dark hair. I love that I can trust him with anything and everything. I love that he is a worthy priesthood holder, and that he loves God. I love that he is a sports fan. I love is silly sense of humor. He is so sweet and patient and will go along with me on my crazy ideas. I love the way he acts when he is really excited about something.

I could go on and on, but to sum it up...I am one lucky lady to have such a hunky hubby.

Groundhog Day Rebellion

Firstly, I would like to wish you all a marvelous Groundhog Day!
Next I would like to state that the whole world has it backwards. If the groundhog sees his shadow that means the sun is out. Sun=Warm Warm=Spring. But if it is cloudy outside then there is no shadow for the woodchuck to see (Yes, woodchuck is another name for groundhog. How much wood could a groundhog chuck, if a groundhog could chuck wood?). Cloudy=Cold Cold=Winter
The logic is off.

According to this article little Chuck was trying to tell the world of its error in behavior interpretation:
"At another Groundhog Day ceremony in New York, a rodent called Staten Island Chuck didn't see his shadow but did bite Michael Bloomberg, the city's mayor - an action that groundhog experts were at a loss to explain in meteorological terms."

So let's all hope for snow in the mountains and rain in the valleys! (We do need some type of storm to clear out the air!) And don't worry what supposed experts say about the shadow. How do you become a groundhog expert anyway?

P.S. I really like making paper groundhogs that popped up from the ground as a kid.

Counting My Blessings #23 - Colors

I am grateful for colors. The world is a much brighter place with them.
I always like reading the definition of color because it sounds so complicated for something that seems so simple.
1 a: a phenomenon of light (as red, brown, pink, or gray) or visual perception that enable one to differentiate otherwise identical objects. b: the aspect of the appearance of objects and light sources that may be described in terms of hue, lightness, and saturation for objects and hue, brightness, and saturation for light sources; also : a specific combination of hue, saturation, and lightness or brightness.

Counting My Blessings #22 - Utah Clean Air Act

I am grateful for the Utah Clean Air Act. I discover how much I enjoyed this act when I was in Las Vegas. I am happy that when I am inside in Utah that I don't have to share in other's carcinogenic habits. Now if we could just figure out the smog....

Our Road Trip

Bret and I decided that it would be fun to take a vacation to California.  We left Friday, January 9, 2009 and stayed the first night in Las Vagas.  We stayed at the 4 Queens on Fremont Street.
I am squinting in this picture because the sun was so bright, but the background is pretty cool.
Saturday we went to stay at my friends, Melissa and Benji Hadfields home.  They are so kind to open their home up to us.  They saved us a lot of money, and it was good to spend time with them.  I also have a weird germ thing with hotels, so it was nice to have a clean place to stay.
Here is Jordan their cute little boy.

I love this picture because Bret seems so happy to be hanging out with Jordan watching basketball videos on YouTube.
Jordan is obsessed with basketball, and I was able to win his affection by playing it with him.
