What This Kid Has Been Up To

Here are some funny random pictures I came across. I really do love this kid's sense of humor. He makes me laugh all the time.

He put the ring on his foot and came out to tell me it was a shoe.
This is my stroller from when I was a kid, and I got it from my mom last time we where there. He loves to push his toys around. I also gave him my Petsmart card so he is pretty grown up.
This is back from 22nd of October which is the last really warm day we had. I had been feeling pretty good so I really wanted to do some good cleaning around the house, but Wes really wanted to be outside. I ended up cleaning out the garage while Wes played with the hose and water.
He also spent some time happily watching bugs. It's been pretty sad for him that all the bugs are gone now that it is too cold for them.
Watching football with Daddy.
A calculator can double as an extra cool phone. He loves to pretend to talk on the phone (don't all toddlers). One time he was walking around with he ear to his shoulder. I asked him if he was okay. He put his finger up and said, "Uh hu, uh hu. Okay, bye."
Wes lined up his trucks and spent a long time having the trucks push each other.
I found him sitting on the floor under my robe with a piece of toilet paper. He was watching the air from vent make it blow. It brought back so many good childhood memories for me.
I love being a mother, and I love this kid so much. He finds humor and adventure in the everyday things I normally wouldn't notice.

2 year-old pictures

Late Friday morning we raced on over to the park because I got nervous about the weather holding out until after his nap. It didn't so I am glad I was able to get some good leave pictures before it got cold and stormy. Plus, we had so much fun playing at the park.

Here is my handsome little 2 year-old.

Wesley's 2nd Birthday

I had all types of grand plans for Wesley's birthday, but between our fridge fritzing out and feeling pretty dang sick for the second half of Friday, we had to scale things back. Instead of decorating the whole house, we put streamers covering his door and a number 2 on his door with crate paper. He LOVED the 2 on the door and pointed to it all day.
Then we put about 20 balloons on the living room floor for him to play with when he got up. He really did enjoy playing with the balloons. It was extra cool when the heater came on and caused the balloons over the vet to "fly."

Wes got to spend a little bit of time in the snow. I was so grateful for the cold and snow because our food was in coolers outside (Ugh, stupid fridge. Doesn't know that I am about to have a baby so it should be well behaved?). I am so glad we didn't have to throw away all the food. I am also grateful that defrosting the fridge and cleaning out the dip pan seems to have fixed the problem. I really hope it fixed the problem.

We decided for a party that we would tell grandparents they were welcome but otherwise keep it simple. My niece ended up coming because my mom was watching her which was fine. I just wasn't up to all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbor friends.

Wesley loved having a balloon war with his Punka and Kylie.

Wesley was so excited about having a bug cake.
Here I am explaining to Wes that it is okay to eat the bugs on this cake because they are candy, and the dirt is really cookies. I instilled in him the importance of not eating grasshoppers and other bugs this summer because our cat frequently ate them in front of Wes. He seemed to understand the concept pretty well, and her even made sure my step-mother knew it was okay to eat bug cake but not grasshoppers outside.

Wesley had his Punka read him a story. This kid loves books just like his Punka.

I had been planning on making Hawaiian haystacks for dinner, but with the fridge situation we decided Firehouse pizza was a better choice.
After dinner it was time to open presents.

He got a lot of really cool toys. He was really excited about the excavatior Bret and I gave him. Turns out the noises it makes get really annoying really fast, but he loves it.

Then it was time for cake.

Wes only ate the ladybug candy and none of the cake, but whatever. He was happy.

I forgot to put the hat on him during cake (pregnancy brain), but I wanted a picture of him in it. I had the cameras all ready for when I put it on, and then we all clapped really loud. We were able to keep it on for 30 seconds and at least get a picture of it.
I have been trying to get pictures of the three of us together more. So here you go. When I see how big I really am it makes me understand why I am so uncomfortable.
All in all it was a fun day. I love my cute little 2year-old.

Cone Head

My sweet little angle turned 2 today!

Here is the first of the birthday posts. Even though Wes was a c-section I was in labor for long enough he still had a cone head. Each year we have kept the tradition up.

Trick-or-Treating

Wesley took a minute to figure out what was going on.
But it didn't take long to get into it. Especially, with his super cool friends leading the way.
Wesley got tuckered out before the other kids where done, but he was content to sit in the stroller and look at my neighbor's little baby. He was so excited to ride with the "baby sista." He also got out a lollipop while I wasn't watching. Luckily, we only went to homes of people I know.
He was so adorable and attentive with the baby.
Wes became a big helper with handing out candy.
Yes, Wesley will be such a good brother.
Happy Halloween!

Halloween 2011

Wesley played ghost by putting blankets on his head and making scary noised from July until about a week before Halloween. The unfortunate thing is he decided he didn't like ghosts even though I made him a simple and adorable ghost costume. Sigh.
On Halloween day he was quite unwilling to put on any costume at all. I told him that we could not go trick-or-treating at the store for chocolate milk unless he wore a costume, and he really wanted to go get chocolate milk. I let him pick between the ghost and last years dinosaur costume (luckily I bought it a little big).

He was glad he put on a costume once he got a balloon and all the other fun things they were handing out.
I put Wes down for a nap after lunch, and then realized I had an appointment to cut my hair. I called my awesome neighbor who watched him for me last minute. But he missed his nap because of my poor memory.

When I got back from my hair cut we played outside.
I felt like I was functioning a couple of hours behind for the rest of the day because I wasn't able to do all the things I planned during Wesley's nap. Ugh, why is my memory so bad. At least I didn't blow my hair dresser off.

I LOVE carving pumpkins, but this year I decided to skip it because it was just too much. Sigh, next year.

Wes was in a terrible mood after dinner, between not having a nap and the fact that he was not given candy even though I was handing it out to the kid that came to the door. I was feeling quite frustrated.
I had planned to go out trick-or-treating with my neighbor, and I forced Wesley's costume on and went outside. We went to the first house, and Wesley wanted to go back for "more canny." I explained we needed to go to different houses, and he was really excited once he figured out what was going on. The high light was hearing his cute little voice as he said, "Trick-or-treat" and "Thank voo."

I didn't grab my camera for trick -or-treating, but my neighbor took pictures for me. I'll do a post for that once I get the picture. Here are the three trick-or-treaters with their loot.

My little family.

As we were taking off Wesley's costumed I mentioned it was too bad I never got him to put on the hat. That is when he decided he needed to wear it. Funny kid.
The holiday didn't end up turning out the way I planned, but we still had a ton of fun. I really do love Halloween.

Side story: I made cute cupcakes for my Sunday school class the day before Halloween, but when we got to church we found out it was stake conference. So there was no class held. Oops.
