Our sprinkling system was fully installed in the 7th of October, and the next day we went to the nursery to buy trees and grass seed. Our neighbor had had great luck with seed, and it is much more affordable so with thought we would give it a try. We got 6 trees and all the seed for about what it would have cost to hydro seed. The fall is a great time to buy because everything is on sale.
Here Wesley is helping us pick a pine tree (well, it's kind of a pine bush grafted on to a stick).

The dirt and trees weren't delivered until Monday, and Bret had Tuesday off. That is when the real work began. The hole for this maple was the worst. The dirt had been packed down pretty hard from all of the big construction trucks crossing over it while they built the neighbors house and condos behind me. I think the only reason we were able to finish it is because my awesome neighbor lent us a pick ax.
Here some pictures from our work on Friday. By that evening we had five of the trees planted and the grass seed down.
Wesley was a big helper of course. He loved playing in the dirt and spending so much time outside.
Wes liked pushing the wagon/wheel barrel, but he would get frustrated with it pretty easily.
Nothing makes yard work fun like a pumpkin balloon.
Notice the weird orange paper on his chest? I am guessing he was pulling off the sticker on the spade and trying (hopefully not succeeding) to eat it.

We were slackers in planting the last tree, but we did it after a week or so. Notice in the back how my maple tree's leaves changed from green to gold.
